Jim Quick and the Coastline Band To Preform
By: Mark Moses
Beach music is a distinct sound and rhythm with its own dancing style. For those from up North when you say beach music they say, “The Beach Boys.” Here in North Carolina we say, Jim Quick and the Coastline Band, after all they are the #1 beach music band in the region. On Wednesday October 3, from 7-10 pm they will be #1 at the Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair. If you think shagging at the beach is fun, hold on to your loafers, it’s even more fun at the county fair.
Coastline features a blend of soul, blues, and rock. From hard driving Carolina back beats, to Georgia southern rock, from Cajun inspired grooves, to Texas and Delta blues; Coastline truly defines the sound of historical Southern music.
Coastline is based out of Wilmington, and is sponsored this year by 105.3 COOL Radio. Their debut national release, Sweet 'N' Ripe, released in April of 2005 is a perfect collection of the nuances of the band. Over half of the album is original material written by the group, while the remainder of the album is comprised of rare material from legendary impressionable artists such as Hank Ballard, Lee Dorsey, and Jimmy Reed.
The buzz is on about Coastline. With their legions of fans known as Coastline Crazies, the band travels all over performing more than 300 shows per year. Teamed with management company, Quick Warren Entertainment LLC, Coastline is one of the most sought after acts on the road today, staying booked over a year in advance. Coastline has rapidly become a staple in Americana music.
Come to the county fair on Wednesday night, October 3, for the best beach music around. Bring your shagging shoes, and bring all your shagging friends.
